Sixty years of shared vacations
In 1966, our grandparents, Pierre and Édith, welcomed their first campers on the banks of the Gardon River. Sixty years later, we’re following in their footsteps with the same passion, to welcome you into our home and make your vacation a memory that will last a lifetime. We wanted to share this anniversary with you.
It all began on the banks of the Gardon
Camping de l’Arche was founded on a plot of land bordering the river in Anduze, in the Cévennes. Pierre and Édith opened the campground there in 1966. Their son David grew up there and later worked alongside them. The campground thus became a family story, one that was lived out before being passed down to the next generation.
In the 1990s, David took over the campground with his wife, Annie. For more than thirty years, they improved it, one enhancement at a time. Their focus was on the comfort of their guests, while preserving the natural character of the site. It is on this work, and on that of our grandparents, that we build today.
Three generations, all with the same desire to welcome you
For us, taking over Camping de l’Arche means continuing a story that is close to our hearts. It also means making a choice : to continue as independent owners. We want to retain the freedom to develop our campground in our own way, while preserving what gives it its unique character.
Over the years, we’ve come to embrace the comforts of a five-star resort. The campsites under the trees, the terraced rentals nestled against the hillside, and the Gardon River flowing below continue to reflect our love of camping. Here, everyone can find their own spot, their own pace, and their own way of enjoying their vacation.

A place that grows with us
Generations have also left their mark on the park. Over the years, 54 tree species from around the world have been planted across more than ten hectares. The trees line the paths and provide shade for the campsites. On the hillside, two hectares of land have been set aside for walking.
This atmosphere is just as much a part of a vacation as the busy days themselves. The sound of birds singing when you wake up, picking up fresh bread at the grocery store, a swim in the river, or a dinner that goes on late at Le Mazet : these are the simple moments we love to share with you.
Thank you for being part of our story
Sixty years is a wonderful milestone for our family. Thank you to our staff and to you, who choose to spend your vacations with us. Whether you already know every nook and cranny of our paths or are planning your first visit, we look forward to welcoming you to Camping de l’Arche. The story continues, and we have many more vacations to share.
